Do you like working out in the fresh air and getting close to nature?
Do you want to support a community project?
Do you have a few hours a month spare time?
Then why not consider a volunteering role at Tilgate Nature Centre? We are looking for those with a flair for gardening and grounds maintenance to help the zoo team to look after the site in Tilgate Park.
There is always plenty to do, year-round. There’ll be weeding, clearing undergrowth, keeping pathways clear of fallen leaves, mowing grass and trimming shrubs right through to painting fences and buildings, simple repair work and landscaping. Besides this our staff and volunteers encourage wildlife through the installation, maintenance and monitoring of bird and bat boxes and habitats that encourage biodiversity. The workload and tasks vary from season to season but what we can guarantee is a sense of satisfaction, the benefits of physical work in the fresh air and in the company of some amazing animals and dedicated zoo keepers.
.
If you want further details or have any questions regarding the opportunity contact Tilgate.naturecentre@crawley.gov.uk or call 01293 521168.

You will be provided with full training on Â鶹´«Ã½ Borough Council’s recycling and waste services, so don’t worry if you don’t already know everything! All we ask is a willingness to spread the three R’s message and a commitment of volunteering two hours a month.
