About the role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive HR Advisor to join our dynamic team on a six-month contract. This pivotal role will provide vital support to our HR Consultants and Recruitment Officer, enabling them to drive forward our Transformation Plan for our People Systems Program. We aim to deliver meaningful improvements in the ways we support our people and strengthen our Human Capital Management.
Key responsibilities, in this essential role you will:
- provide expert support for employee relations cases including sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance procedures
- deliver first line recruitment assistance and contribute to HR reporting
- collaborate closely with service managers, HR colleagues, and trade union representatives
- show the consistent application of best practices and policies within your remit
The ideal candidate will bring:
- solid HR experience with a strong foundation in managing varied workloads and priorities
- a qualification of CIPD level 5 or equivalent with a thorough understanding of employment law
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills, paired with a proactive and solution focused approach
- a proven ability to handle a fast-paced diverse role with conflicting priorities, with professionalism and precision

This role is offered on a 37-hour basis Monday to Friday. The role is mainly based at our Town Hall but there may be a requirement to travel to our Metcalf Way depot and Tilgate sites based on the business need. We understand the importance of work life balance and are proud to offer flexible working arrangements. Typically, you will be required to be in the office 2 to 3 days a week ensuring the balance of collaboration and flexibility.
